If you come and carry out a free survey, is it really free?

There is absolutely no cost involved in our initial survey and you are not obligated to have any work done at all.

You will be visited by an engineer not a salesman.

How long will this survey take?

15 minutes and it will involve our engineer scanning your system and showing you the results on his computer and survey equipment.

How do I know you aren't interfering with my computer and causing the problem?

Our engineer will not even need to connect to your computer to carry out the survey and will not make any changes to your system remotely without your prior written agreement.

How do I know I can trust the person to work on my computer?

All our engineers' employment history and qualifications are carefully vetted and they are checked against the Criminal Records Bureau to ensure the person entering your home is qualified and does not have a criminal record.

What laws do you have to comply with in your work?

All data, if retained, is done so confidentially and securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

All access to and use of your computer wireless internet connection in made in full compliance with the Communications Act 2003.

Why didn’t I know I had a problem?

Your computer will probably be connecting to the internet via an "open" wireless router and the operation of the equipment is set to connect operate automatically when you turn it on. You will not necessarily know if anyone else is using your connection.

My computer works fine why do I need to do anything?

That is good, but if you have an "open" connection to the internet your computer is wide open to Hackers, eavesdroppers and free loaders who could use your broadband connection without your knowledge to gain access to the internet and/or download illegal material. More sinisterly they may intentionally eavesdrop on your emails or general internet access to obtain information about you or actually use your wireless network to gain confidential information stored on your connected computer for the criminal intent of Identity Theft.

Can I solve this problem myself?

Yes you can if you have the necessary software, knowledge and time available. How many times have you sat in front of your computer loading new software only to have discovered a problem which takes hours to fix. This could be the same.

If I go out and buy a new router, would that solve the problem?

New routers do have more sophisticated encryption built into them than older ones but the cost, the hassle and your time involved is a good reason to use our engineers. We can solve the problem more economically, more conveniently and more effectively than a new router.

What happens after the survey?

If you decide that you wish our engineer to fix the problem for you he will ask you to sign an order form before he commences work. That order will confirm your instruction to him to do the work and your agreement to pay £49.99 upon completion.

If I want your engineer to fix the problem what will he do?

The engineer having identified your system configuration in your survey he will update and install encryption codes to lock out any external access to your computer or router. As a matter of routine he will survey your internet security protection and install proprietary anti spy-ware, anti ad-ware and anti-virus software if required. There will no addition cost to you for this software.

How much will it cost?

The secure network encryption will cost £49.99.

What guarantees do we have that the work will be done properly?

All works completed by Wi Fi Rescue is covered by a 3 month warranty against any defect in the workmanship. By the nature of software and computer systems faults do develop as a result of corruption of hardware and software and the degradation of time on your equipment and cannot be covered by our warranty.

What is CCNA qualifications?

The Cisco CCNA network associate certification validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN.

How and when do I pay?

You will pay upon completion of the engineers visit by credit or debit card, our engineers are not permitted to accept cash for payment.
